A/Q News Update from John Salamone...4/28/2010

Just some heads up from another fisherman guys!! Listen up please!!

Might be a good idea to let everyone know about the string of thefts here (at Rayburn) as well.  These theifs are very bold and will not hesitate to pry open the rod boxes on a boat or even pry open doors or break glass on locked trucks in the parking lots.  At the weigh in last weekend, several guys were robbed while they were weighing in fish.  These theifs just went and took rods off of decks, or out of the boats and carried them off.  There have also been several props stolen at boat ramps and again even at the Pavilion while weigh in is taking place.  If it is of value, it needs to be left at home, in the hotel, or in the boat with you and NEVER out of sight.

    A/Q News Letter # 6...4/28/2010

        Hi Anglers,
The weather report for this coming Weekend Team & Individual Series events May 1st & 2nd on Sam Rayburn is making these events trailering events. The forecast is for thunder storms and 16-19 mph winds all day, which normally...you can add 8-10 more mph to their forecast.
If you are pre-paid & registered you will NOT need to come to Mill Creek for a boat check. Launch at any boat ramp on Sam Rayburn....Do Not leave the ramp area until 6:10 am. Be sure to have your lights on and pfd's on and fastened with kill switch attached when you take off. Stop fishing by 3:15 pm and be in line to weigh your fish no later than 4:00 pm.
Thank You! for your participation with A/Q....

   A/Q News Letter # 5...4/27/2010

   A/Q News Letter # 4...4/26/2010

      Hello Anglers,

Just a reminder to all anglers that A/Q has reinstated all the series championships for each lake series on your home lakes. In an attempt to create more participation (bigger payouts) for you as an angler and Anglers Quest....Anyone or any team entering the remaining 5 events in any Weekend Team or Individual A/Q series (May-Sept) will automatically qualify for the series championship which in turn will qualify you or your team for the "Tournament of Champions". Thank You! for your continued support of Anglers Quest!!.....

   A/Q News Letter # 3...4/26/2010

     Hello Anglers,

During this past week A/Q has had to make some adjustments in the 2010 series schedules. The changes made at the Lake Conroe Weekend Team Series and the Conroe Individual Series will stand as changed, which will now put the Team series events on Sundays & the Individual events on Saturdays (May-Sept)....same weekends, just flip flop the days. This is in an attempt to get the participation up for you and A/Q.

All of the series  championships have been reinstated as 1 day championships in October, check the schedule on this site for the dates...There is not enough days to do 2 day championships for 10 series on each lake. As previously stated The "Tournament of Champions" will be done on Lake Palestine on November 13-14, 2010. We will announce the 1st place TOC prize on October 1, 2010....Please read TOC info letter on this site. Thanks to every one for your input and support in these matters.....

    A/Q News Letter # 2...4/24/2010

       Hey Anglers,

Barbara & I just want you all to know that we do appreciate all the kind and caring responses that we have received on the announcing of the 2010 schedule changes.

There will be a Tournament of Champions on Lake Palestine as has always been scheduled...It just will NOT be the $35,000 guaranteed payout as originally projected. The 1st place payout will be announced October 1, 2010.

The new TOC letter is posted on this site along with all the other changes that were made on 4/22/2010. Please go to the correct klik on this site and print yourself a new 2010 schedule because there are a few dates that had to be changed as previously stated...(namely-Conroe Weekend Team & Individual Series). All lake series championship dates are also now posted.

Also, an attempt to get more participation for the A/Q series events...you will be guaranteed to qualify for any Weekend Team or Individual Series Championship by entering the remaining 5 events of the season in ANY series May-Sept. Any A/Q Championship qualifier will be eligible for the "Tournament of Champions". Again, Thanks for your help & support!!

     A/Q News Letter # 1---4/20/2010

         Hello Anglers,

After 13 years of Anglers Quest putting on quality fishing tournaments, the participation is way under par and will not allow us to continue without some changes. Due partly to the bad economy and a bad call by A/Q to cancel each of the 2010 Lake Series Championships and the large volume of anglers requesting that we reinstate the Championships at each lake series brings these changes.

These problems have affected ALL of the series turnouts which in turn is bad for your payout's as an angler and A/Q's business. We at A/Q thought that the Big TOC would be what you, the anglers would want...BUT apparently in some part we were WRONG. Anglers Quest is announcing as of 4/22/2010 that the 2010 $35,000.00 Tournament of Champions on Lake Palestine has been canceled. Note!.... There will still be a TOC on Lake Palestine but WILL NOT have the $20,000/$10,000/$5,000 payout as originally projected. The good news in all of this is ALL of the series will have their own Championships on their own lake in 2010, just like we have done them in past years with the exception of being 1 day events instead of 2 day Championships.

The Individual series will qualify the top 25 in pounds and anyone that enters the remaining 5 events May-Sept for each of 4 lake Championships. Qualify for any series Individual Championship and you will qualify for all 4 lake Championships.

The Tuesday Houston & Wednesday Conroe Series will hold their own Championships and to qualify your team must be in the top 25 in pounds and enter at least 10 of the 23 events. Enter 18 events in either series and qualify for both championships. All 23 events will count towards Angler of the Year status.

The 4 different lake Weekend Team Series ie; (Saturday Series) will each hold their own lake championships. Pounds gathered from all 9 events will count towards Angler of the Year status. For the remaining 5 events May-Sept on Lake Conroe only...the scheduled Saturday events will be conducted on the same weekends as originally scheduled BUT will be done on Sundays. The top 25 in pounds in each lake series and any team entering the remaining 5 events May-Sept will qualify for championship. Qualifying for any Weekend Team Series Championship will qualify your team for ALL 4 Weekend Team Series Championships.

All of the Championship moneys have been appropriated back into each lake series that they came from and will be paid out at each lake series as always in the past.

All necessary changes have been made on this web site. The 2010 A/Q Schedule on this site is correct with the appropriate dates for all Championships as of  4/22/2010.

We at Anglers Quest do enjoy putting on these events for all of you and we do apologize for any inconvenience these changes may have created for anyone...BUT to stay in the business, these changes were a necessary business decision to keep the doors open for you and A/Q.

Thanks, we hope & pray for your understanding and continued support!!
